Pre-Operative Very Low Calorie Diet

This is what my Surgeon requires for their patients. Please consult your surgeon for their requirements and always ask before adding or trying something different. I am writing about my experience.  What were my VLCD restrictions? My surgeon requires a two week liquid only very low calorie diet. This is to help reduce the size of the liver and minimize risk factors during surgery.  No more than 800 calories, at least 90 grams of Protein, 30-60 grams of carbs, and at least 64 fluid ounces. Clear liquids only. This included protein shakes. LOTS of protein shakes. Nothing with pureed food in it. No

I have a disorder of disorders and I pretty much post content when they allow me to.  This past Monday April 10, 2023 I had a Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy . This is a type of bariatric surgery that reduces the size of your stomach so you can lose weight.  I am still recooperating but when I get some energy I plan on making some content about my experience.  Feel free to ask me any questions.
