This picture of Eugenia Cooney is from 2012 according to a Facebook page.
YouTube is killing Eugenia Cooney. They are aware of her videos and continue to give her a platform. Enough is enough. They need to be held responsible for enabling her. Her videos have been reported by so many concerned viewers and nothing is ever done. When will it end? When she's dead?
Eugenia Cooney looking healthy and smiling in Shane Dawson's documentary, "The return of Eugenia Cooney".
I first learned about Eugenia Cooney on July 19, 2019 by watching a Shane Dawson documentary titled, "The return of Eugenia Cooney". You can watch that video here:

I was immediately drawn to Eugenia. She seemed like an innocent child locked into a young woman's body. Her story was interesting to me as someone who had an eating disorder off and on throughout school. I saw a sadness in her eyes and I thought, she must be protected at all costs. I immediately subscribed to her YouTube and Twitch. I was rooting for her.
Everything was great at first. Then I noticed how she started to decline. The difference between 2019 and now is shocking.
There have been many petitions on change.org to remove Eugenia's content from YouTube this one closed at 53,137 signatures.

Eugenia uses a lot of cartoon based products so her videos get recommended to kids and draws them in. This is extremely dangerous.
The comments on her video are from people who idolize her, are worried about her, or from people who come to be cruel. They are all heartbreaking to read. Every video someone comments, "I just stopped by to see if she is still alive".
The ratio of likes to dislikes shows the amount of people who do not want this on YouTube.
She knows what she is doing with her thumbnails. She draws people in with these extreme pictures. She body checks herself constantly in the camera. Smiling because she likes what she sees. She reads her YouTube and Instagram comments. She hearts all the positive ones so you know she is reading the negative comments as well.
Body checking is the habit of seeking information about your body’s weight, shape, size, or appearance.
If she wanted to hide it, she would not be doing this. She knows it gets her views and attention. She body checks constantly while she is filming. Smiling when she see's how extreme her fragile frame has become.
As a mental health advocate and someone with a mental illness, I am aware that you can not force someone to get better. You can however, stop giving that person a platform where they are inspiring others to have an eating disorder. Yes, people seek out information on how to have an eating disorder. How do I know? My best friend and I watched Pro ANA content and went on websites that would guide you.
This is against YouTube's community guidelines so why are her videos still up? I wish that I had the exact numbers of how many times her videos have been reported to YouTube.
I call bullshit on this. There is no way anyone is actually reviewing all of these reports or she would be gone.
So many people are desperately trying to get YouTube's attention. We are watching this beautiful soul die in front of us and begging her employer to get her some help and take her videos down to prevent her from influencing kids and young adults to have an eating disorder.
Instagram users have been trying to get Eugenia banned and are getting push back. I deleted Instagram a while ago because I did not like the way it affected mental health. The same reason I deleted my personal Facebook account. It has been freeing in a lot of ways. I like Twitter better. I can put Twitter down easier. People who like or click on Eugenia's content on any social media will then be fed more pro ana content. Imagine what that does to a teen girl?
I have done everything I can to get YouTube to take her content down. I don't know what else to do. It is hard seeing this person ignore the effect she is having on others. It is selfish and irresponsible. The fact that her videos are being pushed to children should be enough to get her videos taken down. It seems as though all YouTube cares about is the revenue. It needs to start caring about their creators. So many creators are having mental health crisis. This needs to be a larger discussion and Eugenia is just the start.
I am going to make this a series and highlight other creators who need help and the dark truths of content creation. Make sure to follow and please share. Also retweet and share my tweet about all of this to YouTube, maybe it will get their attention?
